Despite Almuñécar Town Hall previously announcing that the crater car park, where the market was, would continue to function, Cáritas said that it that it won’t.
The parish priest, Vicente Guerrero, thanked the Town Hall for the offer but said that yesterday, the 30th of September, was the last day that the church, Cáritas, would operate it.
We ran an article, published on the 16th of September, where the Town Hall announced that the arrangement would continue for “the next few months” so this turn around a fortnight later is surprising.
Perhaps there just isn’t enough demand to warrant the effort by Cáritas to manage the temporary car park, because it is highly unlikely that the Town Hall has already found a company willing to build a new municipal market.
