The Policía Nacional were waiting outside a Motril shop for two crooks to come out and promptly arrested them. The owner had phoned the police.
The two men, aged 43 and 50, had tried to steal items from two establishments, according to the police. A shopkeeper had seen them introducing items into their backpacks and demanded that they put them back, which they refused – it turned into a scuffle.
This was not the first shop they had visited that day as they had also tried to lift items in a small supermarket but were frustrated in their efforts. After they left, the owner contacted the police, who quickly started looking for them in shops in the area.
