Drifting Yacht Rescued

MOT Salvamar GienahSalvamento Marítimo took a yacht into tow that had been adrift two milies off the Cabo de Sacratif (where the lighthouse is) after its engine packed up.

This sea-rescue service received a call out at 09.30h yesterday morning from a 9-metre-long yacht under the name, Libre, with two people onboard to say that it was adrift and needed assistance.

The rescue launch, Salvamar Gienah, which is based in Almería Port was despatched and took it in tow, arriving at the Club Náutico in Motril Port at 11.38h.
