Restaurante-Chiringuito La Bahía in Salobreña closed its door yesterday after a member of staff tested positive for Covid-19.
The closure was a decision made by the owners and is a temporary one whilst the premises is disinfected and the rest of the staff tested. Both sides of the business (it also has a separate pizzería) are affected by the closure.
“As many of you already know, one of our workers in the pizzería side tested positive for Covid-19. For safety reasons we decided to close both restaurants. We are working with the health authorities and have proceeded to carry out a complete disinfection of both restaurants, as well as the rest of the staff undergoing PCR testing,” reads the communiqué, adding, “we will remain closed the amount of time necessary in order to be able to return to normal running in completely safe conditions.”
It concluded with, “We are grateful for your understanding and all the messages of support received.”
The Mayor, María Eugenia Rufino, added her support on social media for the owners and staff of this very popular chiringuito near the Peñon.
