Motril Town Hall began collecting the IVTM local vehicle tax (Impuesto de Vehículos de Tracción Mecánica) on the 5th of this month.

This means that you have a grace period ending on the 6th of October to pay it without accruing a surchage of five percent. This five-percent surcharge begins on the 7th of October and ends on the 6th of November. After that the surcharge increases.

If you have a standing order, it will be taken out between now and the 31st of August.

Alternatively, you can always visit them as they have opened a Oficina de Atención Municipal, which is on Calle Cardenal Belluga next to the Oficinas de Gestión Tributaria. This is also where the Registro y Padrón de Habitantes is as it is no longer in the Plaza de España.
