Something is moving up on Urbanización Carmenes del Mar but thankfully, it’s not the hillside this time. Almuñécar Town Hall has awarded the drawing up of the project for new access to Urbanización Carmenes del Mar to Agaz Ingeniería SL.
The budget for the project design is 15,548 euros because it also includes a geotechinical survey, as well as alternative routes to the one that will actually be built.
Whilst the Councillor for Urban Development spoke positively about how the project would provide a safe and decent entrance to the urbanización as promised before the affected residents, he recognised that it would not fix the real problem that the housing up there faces – the unstable hillside.
He concluded by promising that the Town Hall would not rest until a permanent solution could be found between all of the relative administrations (local, provincial and regional).

Marcial: sorry, busy preparing the paper edition for print at the moment. Will look into it after distribution is finished.
Buenas noches
Alguien podrían informarme cómo está la situación a día de hoy, noviembre del 2022?
Muchas gracias
Wonderful if a new access road is to be built. But does it benefit me if it’s a road to my house gradually slipping away. I think a better “waste of money” would be to compensate the few of us who actually have the problems and then tear the problem ones down. As long as we are adequately compensated it would solve the overall problem for the whole estate. Then the new road would be beneficial. Demolition is expensive but a hell of a lot less than trying to solve a problem that only affects a small minority at the moment.
