The Policía Local in Almuñécar were called in to empty a nightbar in Los Bajos (below the Paseo del Altillo) in the early hours of Yesterday.
They had received several calls from residents living near Los Bajos to say that they could see that the pub was packed outside, so the police went around to investigate to see if the present health regulations were being observed correctly – they weren’t.
What they found was that the amount of people inside made it impossible to keep a safe distance at the bar, around the tables and in the corridor to bathrooms. The police told the owner to close the pub, which he immediately did with the help of the police to empty the premises.
The Policía Local remind residents and visitors that the aforos (maximum capacity) must be kept to and all the health precautions observed. They also warned that masks must be used, even under these circumstances.
