The Almuñécar Board of Councillors has given the green light to a building licence for 63 dwellings as the second phase of Residencial Costa Galera, Taramay.
The development company Sabadell Real Estate and construction company San José will be building the dwellings on Calle Federico Mayor Zaragoza, in front of Parque Mediterráneo.
The First Phase comprised of 44 dwellings, all of which have been completed and once the Second Phase is completed there will be a Third Phase with another 54 dwellings, which will occupy what is left of the development plot, stretching up to the roundabout. This development will basically conclude the P-1, which began 16 years ago when they built Hotel Playacálida.
The Councillor for Urban Development, Javier García also announced 87 dwellings projected above Marina del Este, belonging to the developent company Icon Marina.
Editorial Comment: I remember La Galera when it was just rolling hillside (see photo) covered with olives and almond crowned by the old building, La Galera that gave its name to the area – a sad loss. As for all the housing above Marina del Este, it was only supposed to be a few dozen dwellings with a horse-riding school and tennis court, but instead the Town Hall crammed it with blocks of flats… and now they have given permission for yet more housing there. We won’t even go into Carmenes del Mar…
Note: it’s difficult to make out but Aquatropic was not even built when the photo was taken.
