La Herradura’s New Heart

LHR Herradura's New HeartA heart-shape container has been installed on the Paseo Andrés Segovia where plastic bottle tops can be deposited for charity collections.

“This is to promote recycling, heightening environmental awareness, whilst at the same time it is a gesture of solidarity,” explained the First Councillor for the village, Juan José Ruiz Joya.

He described the Corazón de tapón as a beautiful idea that joins two concepts: “a monument in the shape of a heart, giving the area a different look, and on the other hand, it fosters solidarity amongst the townsfolk, giving the somewhere to deposit their plastic bottle tops.”

He concluded that if this idea is a success; something that he is quite sure about, more of these ‘hearts’ will be set up in other points of the village.
