The Spanish PM announced last night that if this week goes well concerning the loosening of Lock Down restrictions, the following week will see further developments.
Today sees the first day that children will be allowed out to breath some fresh air (and the air is fresher compared with the day they were confined). They will be able to run, jump, and walk up to a radius of one kilometre from their house. Obviously, accompanied by an adult, which can also be an elder brother or sister, for example.
The PM stated that depending on how people behave during this week, on the 2nd of May adults will be allowed out to practice sports, accompanied by those with whom they have shared their confinement.
This decision requires final approval closer to the date and it wouldn’t be the first time that the Government has back-peddled on important decisions, but even so, Saturday the 2nd is Liberation Day.
Now, perhaps it is no coincidence but the Dos de Mayo is a very important date in the History of Spain; it was the day that the people of Madrid rose up against the Napoleon’s occupational forces. It was brutally put down but it was the beginning of the end for the French in the Iberian Peninsular. Let us hope that this date will also be the beginning of the end of the Virus Invasion.
