The Motril fire service rescued a woman who had taken a fall at home yesterday morning.
Fire personnel went to the woman’s flat on the Avenida de Salobreña where they met with the daughter, who had alerted the emergency services.
When her elderly mother had not answered the door, she had decided not to enter but to seek help.
The fire personnel found her in the bathroom where she was lying after having slipped in the shower, leaving her unable to get up. It was decided that it would be easier to use the extending ladder and extract her through the balcony window, rather than using the lift or stairs.
Once safely on the ground, she was handed over to the ambulance crew to be taken to Hospital Santa Ana to have her injuries attended to.
