Starting on Monday the 13th, there be will road works on the A-44 (Coast to Granada autovia) near the Gabias-Alhendrín junction. The reason is, of course, the new bypass work near the Suspiro del Moro.
The actual work is the placing of the cross structure of the motorway flyovers. This requires that the part of the A-44 will be closed between kilometre point 140 to 144.
The road closures will be carried out in two stages:
Stage One: 13th of January to the 3rd of February: right-hand lane closed between the above-mentioned kilometre points. The traffic will be diverted onto one of the oncoming lanes so that it will be single-lane traffic between those two points. This also involves the closure of the access ramp south-bound (Motril) traffic at junction 139 (Malahá) and access ramp for north-bound traffic (Granada) at junction 144 (Padul/Otívar).
Stage Two: 3rd of February to 21st of February. This time the left-hand land will be closed and traffic will be diverted across to the oncoming lanes providing single-lane traffic. The corresponding access ramps at exits 139 and 144 will be closed.
Summing up, single-lane traffic between the Otivar junction and the Malahá one with the corresponding access ramps closed.
Adverse weather conditions, or Trump kicking off World War Three, could affect these timetables.
