A block of flats on Calle Antonio Ferrandis, Nerja, had to be evacuated yesterday morning following a fire in one of the apartments.
The fire, which broke out in the living room for reasons unknown, was reported at 08.30h and was dealt with by the Consorcio Provincial de Bomberos de Málaga.
A total of 20-odd people had to be evacuated whilst the firemen were at work extinguishing the fire. However, they were allowed back in soon after it was declared extinguished. Nobody was hurt but a dog died as a result of the fire.
The Policía Local and Guardia Civil were also at the scene organising the evacuation and controlling the traffic to give access to the fire engines, etc.
