A woman had to be flown by helicopter to hospital yesterday after a paragliding accident in the municipality of Lentegí.
The accident was reported around 12.50h thanks to a phone call to 112 by the victim’s spouse. The woman had taken off from the aerial masts on the Cabra road (A-4050).
A Guardia Civil mountain-rescue team (Sereim) was sent by helicopter from their base in Granada.
First the rescuers had to bring the victim down by stretcher to where the helicopter was waiting to fly her to the Parque Tecnológico de la Salud (the new general hospital).
The Almuñécar fire service was also involved in locating the victim .and handling the stretcher.
