For those of you who like jogging or strolling along the Camino de Gambullón, there are now 11 new street lamps to light your way when the winter evenings close in.
Of course, we’re talking about the lane that runs below Salobreña castle, connecting La Caleta and La Guardia to the Avenida del Mediterranean or the main drag down to the beach, if you prefer.
The Councillor for La Caleta, Ignacio Trujillo, pointed out that locals have long called for public lighting along this lane.
An outside company was brought in to erect these LED street lights on mountings already provided by the Town Hall Maintenance Department, along with the underground conduits for the cabling. The whole thing took about two weeks.
