Salobreña Town Hall has called on the owner of the apartment-block, skeleton-structure to complete the fencing off around the building site, following the accident.

The Mayor, María Eugenia Rufino, has sent municipal inspectors to the half-complete building, whose main structure was completed some time ago but the project ground to a halt during the crisis years.

The inspectors confirmed that the structure is fenced off on the road side, but that it is open at the back. The Mayor also claimed that they did not know that teenagers had been getting onto the building site and accessing the upper floors.

The 15-year-old girl’s condition is described as serious but stable.
