A young biker was killed yesterday afternoon in an accident involving a lorry and two motorbikes on the Camino Viejo de Calahonda within the municipality of Motril.
The accident took place around 16.00h and resulted in the lorry driver being unhurt and the other biker without serious injuries. There are no details available on how the accident occurred.
On the previous day, Sunday the 30th, there was a road accident around 10.30h on the A-7 when a car hit the crash barrier and turned over.
The Almuñécar fire service and an ambulance were called to the scene, the former in case somebody was trapped in the vehicle. However, the 63-year-old driver was able to get out of the car by herself, despite her injuries.
Workers set about clearing off the lanes and returning them to a working condition yet by 11.40h on that same stretch of road there was another accident when a motorbike and a car collided. Two people were injured, a 51-year-old woman and a 58-year-old man, both of whom were hospitalised at the Hospital Santa Ana.
Last weekend coincided with Operación Salida, which involves increased police presence on the nation’s road to cope with the heavy, beginning of July, holiday traffic.
