Dogs Stolen from Animal Home

ALP Stolen DogsAn animal-refuge home in Órgiva has reported that four of its dogs have been stolen after thieves cut a hole in the perimetre fence.

The break in at the NoMaypa animal home took place on the 12th of June, and it is not the first time since they opened a year ago. On this occasion, thieves made off with four male dogs, all of which had been castrated and have identity chips.

According to the animal home, several locals don’t want the installations there and have been pressuring for the Town Hall to close it down, despite the home being completely legal.

If anybody should have any information as to the missing animals’ whereabout, they should phone 681 691 332

Editorial comment: there could well be something sinester behind the theft because illegal, dog-fighting clubs have been known to steal male dogs and use them as ‘practice dogs’ for the ones that they are training to fight. The fact that the stolen dogs are all male is typical, as bitches are not used as ‘cannon fodder.’
