The body of a woman was found in Salobreña waters, just off the beach to the left of the Peñon this morning.

The body had a lifejacket on and was spotted about 15 metres from the beach, known as the Playa de la Charca.

The emergency number 112 took the call and informed Salvamento Marítimo, the Guardia Civil and the Policía Local, as well as an EPES ambulance.

Update: The victim is thought to be a foreign woman in her 80s
