Work started last month in Salobreña on one of its most important urban development projects: The Zona Verde Norte.

The Zona Verde Norte is part of the Plan Parcial Playa and involves a green corridor running parallel with the Avenida de Andalucía, some 30 metres wide and 1,250 metres long stretching behind the beach-area urbanizaciones all the way to Río Guadalfeo.

Besides having paths and bicycle lanes, it will also be the future location of the fairground with an area of 5,500 sq/m, located in a widened area in centre part of this green strip.

The Mayor, María Eugenia Rufino, visited the area around mid March, where they were clearing the land of wild vegetation; the beginning of an 8-month-long project with a budget of around 500,000 euros.
