The Guardia Civil have arrested a female driver who had grabbed hold of a policeman who had just fined her and dragged him 25 metres along the road.
The 51-year-old driver, resident of Orense, had triggered a speed camera on Tuesday afternoon at a speed of 70 kph within a 50 kph, speed-limit area on the PO-221 in Moraña (Pontevedra).
As she was being passed the fine sheet through the driver window, she grabbed him by the sleeve and forced him to run alongside until he finally freed himself – she then drove off.
The police later tracked down the car, next to a taxi rank, with the driver inside. She was given a breathalyser and a drugs test, both of which gave a negative reading.
