Who’s Pushing The Baby?

Police officers located a baby that had been left in a pushchair next to a parked car in Roquetas de Mar at the beginning of November.

It was around 18.40h that the Guardia Civil received a call from a member of the public to say that they had found a baby, not more than a year old, in a pushchair in the parking area of a shopping centre.

They immediately sent out a patrol to investigate who met up with the person who had made the call and who had stayed next to the baby until they arrived.

They took charge of the baby girl, as darkness had already fallen, and began trying to locate the parents by running the number plate of a car next to the pushchair that had a babyseat installed.

Contacting the car owner by phone they confirmed that he was the father and told him to go to his parked car.

When he arrived he explained that he and his wife had both mistakenly believed that the other was going to take care of the baby once they had placed her in her pushchair, as they were going to different places in the shopping centre… but they had both walked off without her.

The mother soon arrived almost in tears but saw that the baby was OK and in good hands. The police calmed her down and returned the baby to their care.
