Motril’s Plaza de Tenería

Plaza de Tenería in Motril – that’s the one next to the market – is going to get thoroughly renovated next year.

The project, with its 600,000-euro budget (80% from the Junta), should take eight months, once it starts, but first it has to be put up for bidding.

The project (part of Espacio Habitable – Ciudad Amable) is going to give over more space to pedestrians and less to parking, and includes plenty of trees and a fountain.

Although parking around the market will be more or less eliminated, a loading/unloading area for delivery vans and some car parking will be available. There will also be  a bicycle lane which will connect up with the one on Avenida de Salobreña.

Editorial comment: First the Town Hall under the PP polished off all the parking along the Avenida de Salobreña and now under the PSOE they are going to eliminate the nearby parking in front of the municipal market…
