It has been confirmed that the two bodies retrieved from the sea this week; one in La Herradura Bay and one several miles off Motril, were immigrants.
According to the Guardia Civil, as nobody has come forward to claim the bodies to date, fingerprints have been taken and listed on their data base.
At present the deceased are being kept at the Instituto de Medicina Legal de Granada (IML) pending burial. A short period of time will be given in case somebody wants to claim them.
Motril buried the bodies of five people in the Municipal Cemetery who had perished trying to cross from Africa in an open boat, at the beginning of this month.
