The Festival de Música de Cámara will begin in Motril on Saturday the 22nd with performances each evening up to and including the 30th.
So, what have we got? Saturday the 22nd at 21.00h there’s Mozart performed by a top-notch string quintet called Azahar, each a top-ranking European soloist in his/her own right. The venue for this and most performances is the Teatro Calderón de la Barca.
There’s also a Russo-German string quartet called Eliot who have a few international prizes under their belts.
We should point out that the musical evenings correspond to most of the evenings but not all; Monday the 24th and Tuesday the 25th are reserved for matinee children’s activities.
The closing concert on the 30th will be a performance by the young, Canadian violist, Kerson Leong, together with fellow Canadian pianist, Louis Lorties, other of Interational reknown.
But there a lot, lot more with Flamenco fusion with Dani de Morón, who is considered one of the best Flamenco guitarists in decades. There are also silent movies with live musical backing; two films, in fact.
What’s missing… Food! Yes, over at the Almacén del Azúcar de la Fábrica del Pilar there’s the Concierto Gastronómico (thanks to its success last year) entitled, La Trucha de Franz Schubert, where you can enjoy a bit of Schubert, together with different trout dishes produced by the chef at the Restaurante Museo del Azúcar.
