It was seven years ago that Robbie and Ali Medina took over at El Faro in Almuñécar. Now, due to circumstances beyond their control, the bar will close it’s doors for the last time this Monday.

Rob, Ali and their son Matt are having one final bash (no pun intended) this Saturday evening. There will be a curry and rice buffet for everyone and even Matt might get out of bed to be there!

Although Saturday will be the final day/evening… they are going to pop in on Monday for Robbie to do the very last bingo session before closing the doors for good.

The family intend to stay in Almuñécar so we should see them around the town from time to time.

Just one last thing… I have been asked to say a few words at the party on Saturday evening and obviously I won’t be saying anything controversial, mean, cruel, or even remotely funny about El Faro, the Medinas or any of the regulars.

So, all you customers, past and present, why not pop in on Saturday for one last drink. Let’s face it, what could possibly go wrong?
