There was a surprising incident around the middle of last month in El Morche (Torrox-Costa) when a man threw himself at his wife’s car… and it wasn’t parked at the time.
The 37-year-old man from Barcelona confessed to the Policía Local that he had thrown himself against the car because his wife was allegedly drunk and he didn’t want her to drive it.
The police carried out a breath test on the 45-year-old woman, who proved to have twice the legal limit of alcohol; her reading was 0.54mg/L air expelled. The police immobilised the car, which had suffered extensive damage to the bonnet and windscreen.
Witnesses confirmed that it was the man who launched himself against the front of the car. As a result he need stitches in a head wound, as well as suffering bruises on his body.
It appears that the women, who lives in the Axarquía, had been out all night drinking.
Finally, on the same day, early in the morning, in Frigiliana, an 80-year-old driver was badly injured when he lost control of his car and descended 15 metres down the Barranco de la Mujer before coming up against an olive tree. It took fire personnel three hours to get him out after finding the car at 16.00h.
