A foreign paragliding enthusiast perished on Thursday after coming down in the sea in La Herradura at the Caleta end of the bay.

The accident occurred around midday and despite attempts by two divers to save the middle-aged man’s life, little could be done.

Spanish news sources can’t agree on the age nor the nationality of the victim, but reliable sources have provided us with these details. However, we won’t be publishing them here out of respect for the victim’s family, who are reportedly here at the moment.

For the same reason we shan’t go further into recovery-attempt details but would instead like to express our sincere condolences to the family.
