The rains and wind wrought their now habitual damage in the beach areas of Motril, especially Playa del Pelaíllo.
The fire service was called out to pump out flooded restaurants along the Camino del Pelaíllo. They were needed also to clear rain drains, some of which had become blocked by mud etc washed down them.
The Policía Local had to close the Rambla de las Brujas to traffic where it crosses under the N-340.
The areas most affected by flooding were the Barrio del Varadero, Camino del Pelaíllo, Rambla de las Brujas, Polígono de Las Algaidas & Alborán, as well as the Polígono El Vadillo next to the N-340 roundabout.
Finally, as has become habitual, Playa de Poniente de Motril was completely flooded out right up to the Paseo Marítimo Rey Balduino.
