The Ministerio de Fomento has had crews out for the last few weeks working on the crash barriers along the N-340 where it passes through Almuñécar/Herradura.

Actually, the task was farmed out to a Murcian company, Cerramientos y Barreras Seguridad Vial S.l, who have been working in La Herradura in the Barrio La Mezquita area and at the entrance to the village from the N-340.

Obviously, this has been affecting the traffic flow along the main road thanks to temporary traffic lights regulating 2-way traffic along a single lane.

This work was actually approved just under a year ago with the consensus of all parliamentary groups in answer to a petition from motorbike users concerning amputations caused by the crash-barrier stanchions.
