Rumbled by Vigilant Neighbour

MOT Policia NacionalTwo women from Serbia and Croatia were arrested in Motril by the Policía Nacional for attempted burglary. The suspects, aged 21 and 23, one of whom has a criminal record, were discovered by a neighbour.

The police received a call mid afternoon from a neighbour who had seen through the peephole of her front door that two women were using some sort of tool to open her neighbour’s door.

The police rushed to the property, ran up the stairs and made contact with the neighbour only to be told that the two women had just gone down using the lift, so they ran back down the stairs to intercept them.

They caught them just as they reached the pavement just outside the block entrance. They searched them and found that one of them was carrying a large pair of scissors, a screwdriver and a small, plastic bottle of lubricant. They were immediately arrested.

Later, at the police station, the police confirmed that the two women belonged to a travelling gang who specialised gaining access to homes using the ‘resbalón‘ method

Here is a video of how the resbalón technique, which is the method used in 60% break-ins, works; i.e., using a bankcard or X-ray, for example, and sliding it down between the lock and door jam.
