A man in his 40’s was arrested in Motril for slashing the face of a teenager in the street, after mistaking him for somebody else.
The incident took place at 17.18h on Tuesday in mid February on Calle Cañas. The 47-year-old aggressor approached the victim and after a brief argument in which the teenager told him that he was not the person that he was looking for, the older man took out a knife with an 8cm blade, and slashed the victim’s face before fleeing the scene.
The teenager went immediately to the Centro de Salud on Avenida de Salobreña for treatment and came across the aggressor again, there, in the same medical centre. The male nurse who was treating the teenager phoned the police to explain that he was treating a victim of a knife attack.
A police patrol arrived and immediately arrested the aggressor, who, after a brief interrogation, told them where he had discarded the knife, which they soon recovered.
