The Puntalón area of Motril will be getting new sports facilities on a municipal plot between the Rambla del Puntalón and Avenida Porvenir.

The Councillor for Agriculture, Maintenance, Parks & Gardens, Gloria Chica explained that the 84,000-euro budget comes from the 2017 PFEA; in other words, a regional grant intended for improvements in the agricultural/rural sector.

The 1,500-sq/m plot, which will also contain a gardened area, has long been overgrown but is reasonably flat so there isn’t too much work in preparing it for the builing phase.

The works will take about three months and will entail a low perimeter wall around a asphalted running track which will be fenced in and include a grass-covered area and a fountain.
