La Azucarera sugar factory at Pilar, Motril. The exhibition commences on Saturday 25 November with an opening event inaugurated by the dignitaries of Motril, and then runs until 16 December 2017. Opening hours for the duration of the exhibition are 7pm until 10pm Wednesday to Saturday.
The sugar factory, a resplendent 19th century building, is also celebrating the sixth anniversary of its renovations on Saturday 25 November. At this joint event, the mayor of Motril will be joined by a group of art-lovers who will enjoy regional wines and live chill-out music from Toni Connolly and Luis Gomez, who will be playing guitar, keyboard, flute and saxophone. The contemporary, fine-art exhibition makes the most of the sugar factory’s spectacular interior and includes paintings, sculpture, artistic photography and mesmerising installations.
For the duration of the exhibition, musical events will take place every Saturday evening.
Emma Plunkett, Head of Acompalia Artistica, comments: “The sugar factory at Motril is a stunning location and our exhibition has attracted the cream of creative talent who have provided a vast range of thought-provoking works. This will be one of the area’s largest gathering of artists this year.”
