A surfer handed over a waterproof parcel to the Guardia Civil post in Castell de Ferro that he had found floating in the sea – it contained hashish.
Well actually, the police station was closed, so he left a note and that evening the Guardia went to his house to collect the parcel.
On the same day that he had handed over the parcel, Tuesday the 17th, a Guardia Civil maritime patrol also came across a floating parcel at a distance of half a nautical mile to the south of Almuñécar.
The police believe that the two parcels are part of a consignment that had been jettisoned by drug runners upon sighting a Coast Guard patrol too close for comfort.
