More Vandalism in Salobreña

SAL Bogs DestroyedSalobreña is no stranger to mindless vandalism but even so, each time it occurs it hurts on a collective level: this time it was the public toilets in the sports stadium.

The concert given by the dance band, La Tentación at the sports stadium on the night of the 22nd was a success with a sizeable turnout but while the musicians were busy playing, vandals were busy wrecking the public toilets.

The breakages in the gents were discovered by the municipal cleaning crew the next morning, who immediately reported the find to the Policía Local.

The Mayor, Mª Eugenia Rufino, described this act of vandalism as “cheap and lamentable,” but although it might be figuratively cheap minded, it won’t be cheap to replace the broken urinals.

The Mayor also pointed out that vandalism is part and parcel of a lack of civic involvement that is manifested in such acts as not picking up your dog’s dropping or littering public spaces rather than placing in rubbish bins.
