The Norwegian brass bands are in Almuñécar and will be until the end of the month. Saturday saw concerts given by Frydenlud Skolekorps and slemmestap Skolekorps.

These performances are part of the V Festival Tropical de Bandas de Música de Almuñécar and were held in the town-hall square; i.e., the Plaza de la Constitución. There was also a dance put on by the dance group Capoeira.

Sunday saw a brass-band parade along the Paseo de San Cristóbal, ending in the Jardines del Palacete La Najarra, or in other words, the main tourist-office gardens, where there was a concert given by three Norwegian bands: Hovilokg og Liek Skolekorps, Austrheim Skolekorps and Siggerund Skolekorps.

Things followed through until Monday at 20.00h in the Plaza de la Constitución again, but this time with four brass bands.

The V Festival Tropical de Bandas de Música will run until the 29th and will consist of the participaton of a dozen Norwegian brass bands, who will be joined by the Agrupación Musical La Pollinica, from Marbella; la Lira de Pizarra and the Banda Municipal de Música de Almuñécar.

The idea is to promote both culture and tourism by filling the streets during the said week each evening with music and fun.
