Post San Juan Clean Ups

ALM SJ CLean UpWell, cleaning crews in Almuñécar collected a total of 25 tonnes of rubbish from its beaches: Puerta del Mar, Fuente Piedra, and San Cristóbal saw the greatest concentrations.

On the other hand, more outlying beaches like Velilla, Tesorrilo and Pozuelo produced less rubbish than in previous years.

Those 25 tonnes, by the way, include, La Herradura, where obviously there was a lot of rubbish.

In Motril 20 workers, nine drivers and two supervisors managed to clean up the designated beaches where bonfires were permitted. We have no figures on how much rubbish was collected.

And as for Salobreña, there has been no press release at all on a post-San-Juan clean up – sorry.

As for fire incidents, there was only one call-out and that was in Albuñol on a piece of wasteland next to housing where dry vegetation and plastic from greenhouses caught fire in the early hours of San Juan. It was quickly put out without damage to nearby property.
