The Town Hall has arranged some extras for the coming San Juan celebrations, which will run from the 22nd to the 25th of June.

Amongst the novelties will be an open-air guateque (disco) on the actual night of San Juan, as well as a knees up with the dance band, La Tentación, rated as one of the best in Andalucia by the Mayor. The latter will be held in the municipal sports stadium on the 22nd.

There will also be a parade of ‘big heads’ on the night of San Juan. Another novelty will be a ‘marine market’ in the Parque de la Fuente running the whole weekend.

According to the Council for Fiestas, Salobreña’s San Juan celebration are fast becoming a a point of reference for this holiday event.

Well, the Town Hall is certainly making it more than just bonfires on the beach as it is in other towns along the coast.
