The Motril Port police arrested the same man twice within a 48-hour period: firstly for forged vehicle documents and secondly for receiving stolen goods.
The 32-year-old man, who is Moroccan but a resident of Bondy in France, possesses a criminal record.
The first arrest was on the 26th of February at 14.30h whilst clearing customs & passport control for vehicles queuing to embark for Nador. The man was driving a van. The police found that the engine number had been manipulated and that the vehicle documents were forgeries.
The next day, Monday, the man was brought before a magistrate and released pending trial.
Then on the 28th of February, a public holiday, at 12.30h, he was arrested again, trying to embark a different vehicle transporting an engine and bonnet of a high-range saloon car that had been stolen four days previously.
