An 86-year-old British man allegedly murdered his 79-year-old wife in a private nursing home in the region of Valencia.

The incident took place in the town of Campello (Alicante) on Sunday the 19th around 09.00h.

The man, who reportedly tried to kill himself with the same knife, was treated in hospital and is now in custody.

The Guardia Civil are investigating the incident to determine whether it was in fact a case of ‘gender violence,’ which is their main hypothesis.
