Flea Market for Motril

MOT Rastro OnLStarting from Saturday, the 14th January, Motril will be holding a weekly flea market, thanks to an agreement between ADREPEM and the Town Hall.

ADREPEM is an association for the unemployed and those in a precarious economic situation.

The flea markets will be every Saturday, starting at 09:00h and finishing at 14:00h, on the Plaza de las Hermanas Mercedarias.

Obviously, the Town Hall is pushing the idea; not that it needs much ‘pushing’ as it is a great idea, both for members of the before-mentioned association, but also for Motrileños and out-of-town visitors.

The Chairman of the association, Antonio Maldonado Lupión, said, “The idea behind this initiative is to follow the examples of other towns that hold flea markets, such as Almuñécar and Salobreña, where the markets are very popular.”

If you want to participate: i.e., put up a stand, then you had better get a move on, as people who are unemployed etc. have priority over the 50 available stall slots. The number to phone is 653 435 444.

You can also put your name down via Whatsapp on 658 068 910.
