At Long Last!

mot-rambla-clearing-onlThe long awaited and much needed work on the overgrown ramblas along the Costa Tropical began on the 9th, namely in Motril and on the Rambla de las Brujas.

It was the Motril Councillor, Gloria Chica, who announced the fact that diggers were busy removing tonnes of vegetation and silt from the said watercourse, which runs from Alcampo down to the Barrio de Santa Adela in the port area.

The work, however, has meant that one of the road lanes running alongside has been closed to traffic, because the digger or JCB is heaping the refuse onto the road surface to be loaded onto lorries and transported to dumping points.

Last year, the Junta used a machine that cut and shredded the vegetation, leaving in the ramble to rot away, however, this year there just isn’t isn’t time for that.
