Motril Port Customs confiscated 23 TV sets considered stolen which a Moroccan citizen was trying to take to Tangiers.
Only a couple of the TV’s still had their serial numbers, one of which belonged to a TV stolen in Ribadumina (Pontevedra, Galicia). Obviously finding out where all the others came from will be a much more difficult task.
The discovery took place at 17.00h on Tuesday the 6th during a customs check on boarding vehicles. Whilst searching a Seat Toledo they came across a pile covered over with a blanket on the back seat.
Amongst the flat-screen TV’s there was also a ceramic hob and a video camera.
The 33-year-old driver, a resident of Gerona, claimed that he had purchased the sets at a flea market in Perpignan in France and was taking them to Morocco to sell them.
As the man had no bill of purchase and having found that at least one of the items was stolen, the goods were confiscated and the man put under investigation for allegedly receiving stolen goods.
