The ferry link between North Africa and Motril is moving more passengers than bargained for – nine stowaways were found on just one ferry.

The ‘invisible’ passengers, five of whom were minors, were hidden within lorries; inside them, underneath them and on top of them, behind the anti-drag shield on the cabins.

One of the stowaways had requested political asylum on a previous ‘visit’ to Spain, which had been rejected.
