Almuñécar will hold the IV Feria Minerales between the 22nd and 24th of July on the Paseo de San Cristóbal.
So, if you’re into Geology and Mineralogy then the Paseo‘s the place to be because there will be specialists from all over Spain, as well as Morocco and Belgium.
But there’s more! Because running at the same time in the Palacete de La Najarra; i.e., the main tourist office, there will be talks on Paleontology, mineralogy and mining between 11.00h and 14.00h and in the evenings between 18.00h and midnight.
For example, on Friday the 22nd, Professor Julio Aguirre, who heads the Departamento de Estratigrafía y Paleontología at the Universidad de Granada, will give a talk entitled: ¿Qué es la evolución? 3.500 millones de años de vida os contemplan.
On Saturday the 23rd at 19.00h there will be an exhibition of lamps used through the ages in mines. On the same day at 20.30h, Manuela Utrilla, who is on the board of the Andalusian College of Geologists, will give a talk entitled: Los minerales en nuestras playas.
So there you have it, a very interesting three days with talks, exhibitions and a fair – what more could you ask for in a summer evening?
