Nine Lives

The 9-year-old girl in Málaga who fell seven floors and survived can only be described as ‘very, very lucky,’ to be alive.

The incident, which occurred in the area known as El Ejido on Friday, had neighbours showing emotions that swung from consternation to surprised relief – after all, the girl fell from a height of just over 20 metres.

The reason for the girl’s survival were two balcony awnings on the way down and a parked car, which she hit before rolling off onto the road.

It is still not known how she came to fall but she was alone at the time as her father had popped out to buy something. Neighbours say that the girl suffers from Down syndrome and lives alone with her father.
