Death from Heat Exhaustion

A local from Las Gabias has been charged with cruelty to animals after having left his dog on a balcony where it died from heat exhaustion.

The 23-year-old dog owner allegedly left the animal with no shade whilst he spent the day in Sevilla at a fairground, after having won an entrance ticket on the 25th of June in a raffle.

Consequently, he left his French bulldog on the balcony with food and a little water. However, he completely failed to take into account that the balcony offered no shade whatsoever.

By midday concerned neighbours had contacted the Guardia Civil saying that that they had heard the dog whining and whimpering in distress until he finally succumbed without them being able to intervene.
