Five men were arrested in Pamplona on Thursday the 7th for the alleged rape of a woman in a doorway during the bull running festival, San Fermín.

One of the accused, incredibly, is a trainee, Guardia Civil policeman, who will undoubtedly be expelled from the academy, if the charges are accepted by a magistrate.

The 19-year-old victim immediately reported the incident to the regional police, who, thanks to the detailed description given by the woman, were able to arrest four of the five men in the bullring. The fifth man was arrested shortly afterwards.

A CCTV camera in the same street captured images of the group, aged between 23 and 25, entering and exiting the doorway, which also helped identification enormously – especially as one of them had a tattoo on his chest.
