The Almuñécar Fire Service were called out to rescue a baby that had accidentally become locked in a parked car in La Herradura.
Thanks to the rapid intervention by the firemen, the baby was recovered safe and sound, despite the high temperatures of yesterday, Saturday the 11th.
The incident occurred in the La Herradura Urbanización Montepino when anxious parents phoned the emergency number 112 to say that their 1-year-old baby was trapped inside the car after the keys had been accidentally left inside the boot of the vehicle.
The firemen rapidly broke the rear, side window, on the opposite side of the car to where the baby was sat, strapped into its car seat. Obviously, with all the banging and breaking class, the baby was crying.
According to the incident report, the firemen removed the passenger door to later enter the boot via the back seat and thus open the car – an operation that took about an hour…
Editorial note: can’t help thinking why they just didn’t force the boot…
